Close to midnight on July 4, 1997 a group of five of us were headed back into town on a dark county road a few miles south of Great Falls heading west from the Sand Coulee area when we noticed a large white glowing ball on the left hand side of the road above the power lines and cliffs following behind us that seemed to stay the same size and speed no matter how fast or far we traveled away from the spot where we first spotted it. It had no sound, and it felt like the normal fifteen-twenty minute ride into town took much longer than normal even though I know we were going over 65 mph and probably much faster at the time, as we were trying to get away from this object. It was a new moon and the town’s fireworks were not visible as we were driving along cliffs, and there were no lights coming from the very few homes on this road. The object followed us until we reached the junction that turned north towards Great Falls.
