Driving west on highway 80, my husband and I witnessed this same exact object in the sky off to the north side of the highway. A ball of neon green light popped into the sky, but was not far from the earth's ground. It was still for 1-2 seconds and then began to fall with a line following down. It then disappeared before hitting the ground. This was in the middle of farmland, with nothing else around.
