Floating large oval craft in Clarkston GA around 1974-76 approximately

It was in Clarkston, Georgia. I'm not sure of the exact date or exact year but it was around 1974-76 and i was around 12/13 years old. I was standing by our Apartment complex with 3 friends. All of a sudden a massive orange ball of light was floating above us. It was oval, silent, just above tree level, maybe 20-30 ft in size. It had an orange glow at first and then when we looked directly up at it, we saw a multitude of colors flashing within it. We all stood in absolute silence for what I can truly only 'guess' was what felt like 1 minute, but I have no idea how long it was. When it eventually moved off and floated above another nearby complex, it disappeared behind trees beyond our sight. The strangest thing is that not one of us said a word to each other. When it moved off we just all walked to our respective apartments in complete silence like zombies and never once mentioned it again. I never even mentioned it to my mother or brother when I walked into our apartment. I actually completely forgot it even happened until at 60 years old I randomly bumped into one of my old friends from that time. After reminiscing about our time in Clarkston growing up, he nervously asked if I remembered anything strange happening around that time (he didnt want to talk about it to anyone because he thought it would make him sound crazy) As soon as he asked if I remembered anything weird from that time, IMMEDIATELY for the first time in my life that memory came back to me from that day. When I nervously asked 'do you mean that floating orange oval light thing?' , he just crumpled and yelled YES !! He then proceeded to tell me he wondered if he had imagined it when he remembered about it because it was so weird. As we exchanged stories, our memories were literally identical, and we hadnt seen each other in over 45 years. After we saw the craft I have no idea why we were silent that night, never talked about it the next day, not once ever again. It was almost like it was put in an area of our brain that didn’t really have normal recall or something? Hard to explain… All I know now, is that it definitely 100% happened, and there must be many many more people in our position who saw it, but will not 'remember' it persay until a random coversation or moment happens that opens that part of our memory.
