As a military dependent(Dad,USN), stationed at NAS Jacksonville,I am very familiar with what flies. While driving home from work on Kitchen-Dick rd.,heading toward a four way intersection,I spotted what appeared to be flashing lights off in the distance to the east. The closer I got to the stop sign,the lights became more in clear to not be flashing but are steaming across the saucer shaped disk.The disk had a small dome,a band of circular lights that appeared to revolve around the center band of the disk. It was traveling above the power lines directly over the Old Olympic Hwy.at about 35-40 mph.As I came upon the stop sign, It flew right in front of me. Watching it the whole time,I stopped,hit the turn signal and turned directly behind it. I followed it for about 20 seconds and then it took an instantaneous 90 degree left turn.After a few seconds it dropped 30ft. all the while continuing flying perpendicular from the road. I pulled up to where it turned,saw it drop to just above ground. I opened my car door to asses and it again made another turn to hide behind a farm house.....I pondered,half in and out of my car,what the hell.....It was quiet,there was no light nothing. I did get back in my car and drove home. At the time it seemed they didn't to interact so I chose not to.However, upon reflection it seemed they were taking a scenic tour of our Pacific Northwest. Just saying.
