An object with lights went back and forth

My husband and I were outside and watched an object hover and then go right. While it was further away a huge orb flashed in the sky and flickered and then retreated quickly back into space and dissapered. It was massive in size. A the fastest helicopter I have ever seen flew over our house at the same time. Then the object with lights came back and headed to the left. It got lower and lower with a glow around it and then vanished.
