Large extremely fast moving orb moving across the sky that stopped in midair, turned, and continued in the direction

Driving down the highway in the middle of the night I was the only one on the road. A large orb of light appeared in the sky to my left and was moving at an insanely fast speed in the same direction as me. It stopped in midair and stayed still for a second before turning to the right and continued on extremely fast without having to build speed. Was out of view after another 5 seconds.
