Red-orange triangular object with large flames flying during fireworks display

While watching fireworks, I saw a large red/orange plane-shape (triangular) in another part of the sky, with orange flames coming out of the bottom. At first I thought it might be part of the fireworks, but it was steadily flying in the opposite direction of the fireworks. I thought it odd that it was so vibrantly colored and that it would be flying so close to a major fireworks display. I tried to photograph it, but by the time I got my camera, it was too far away to properly capture it. However, when I first spotted it, it seemed fairly close to the ground.
