Dark disc-shaped object moving across night sky with great(supersonic+) speed, no visible lights, no sound, VERY FAST.

On April 18, 2012, at or near 11:45pm PST, a friend and I observed a dark round/oval-shaped object fly with great speed across the night sky. The object moved from west to eat at a speed which I have never seen any object in the sky move. It covered the entire span of the viewable sky over my backyard in a matter of 3 seconds before it seemed to dissapear into the night sky. It made absolutely no sound for the speed at which appeared to be moving(supersonic at the very least). There were absolutely no lights on the object that could be seen. The underside of the object seemed to be lit up from the ground due to light pollution caused by a nearby auto dealer mall, indicating the object was fairly close to the ground. perhaps only a few thousand feet.

If you've ever seen an owl or other night bird flying over a lit-up area at night, thats what it reminded me of.
