Slow moving bright white light dimmed in intensity, dimmed a little more then completely dissappeared.

Tonight, Friday, May 6, 2011 at 8:57 PM Pacific Time, I witness the following in the sky above Old Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles County, California: I observed one single round bright white light traveling in a slow steady, horizontal, direction from a North/West direction to the South/ East towards Santa Monica. At first I thought this light was a satellite but then I realized the light was much brighter and at a lower altitude I am used to seeing satellites in the night sky. The object was traveling slow enough that I had enough time to go inside and grab my binoculars (10-20 seconds).

I was able to view the object with a pair of Bausch & Lomb binoculars (8 x 40). I was not able to see any type structure or craft, only a single bright light. Then after following the object with my binoculars (10 seconds) the intensity of the light dimmed, dimmed a little more, then the light completely turned off and disappeared.
