Reported: 2010-12-12 16:59 Pacific
Duration: 30 min
No of observers: 3

Location: Lake Balboa / Los Angeles, CA, USA

Shape: Sphere
Characteristics: Aura or haze around object

Sphere over Los Angeles Moving Slowly, shifting directions and altitude.

An odd shaped Silver sphere what we thought was a very large balloon came from over the mountains from the north San Bernardino area coming towards the valley over century city Van Nuys area under a Chem trail at first. We could tell something was wrong that it was in fact not a balloon because the wind and clouds were moving in the opposite direction Id say maybe 20-30 thousand feet up it moved slowly against the wind kitty corner towards Lake Balboa Area it stopped and turned direction 4 times slightly. When my brother and my father and I were watching it in the back yard it was gaining altitude quickly and shifted direction like a V again and then went towards Los Angeles very high up stopped for maybe 5 min then just vanished.

Did anyone else see this today? We could tell perfectly how it was moving because we used the corner of the top roof as a reference to see how it was shifting around in the sky!

Tried to get Video on our cell phones but it was so f! uzzy to record and with the glare of the light.. this all lasted around 20-30 min. I wonder if the local airports in the area have record of something on there radar
