Bright falling light over Passadina

I was going west on Highway 10 in L.A. after work, just passing Passadina. There were three helicopters in the sky. Then I saw a large firey object falling verdicaly at top speeds. There was a green flash that lit up the sky, and then the object started going horizontaly! Then it was gone! The entire way home, I kept seeing helicopter after helicopter. Something is going on.
