Dark red arched acrossed southern sky at dusk in summer of 1939.

About half way between sunset and dark a dark red sphere arched across the southern sky from east to west about 30 degrees above the horizon. It left no trail whatsoever.

Several boys were present. I was first to see it and told others to look. Only one saw it before it went below the horizon.
