flashes in the sky

Just reading and saw a similar event for the same area months after I had been there visiting family. High in the sky there were several flashes of light, all at the same point but each one smaller than the one before. All of them were white in color and also produced no EM effect (flickering lights, etc.). I know a meteor shower is not consistant with these flashes and there were no apparent aircraft in the area at that time.
