SUMMARY: A bright white light was seen in the night sky. It quickly darted over to the north, stopped, and then took off back south and suddenly disappeared.

I was out star gazing which I do often, when I noticed one of the stars was misshaped. It was oblong like a football, slightly wider at one end. Within 15 seconds of when I first saw it, it took off very quickly to the north and suddenly stopped. In about five more seconds, it took off back to the south, slightly faster, and disappeared with its light trail following behind.
