Right at the time of NYE, five red stars appeared and hovered south east of me for an extended period of time. I was out to watch the two sets of firework shows to the west. They looked like bright stars. I am familiar with flight paths and ruled out planes, helicopters, drones and flares. I do not know what they are but after a few minutes they slowly faded out one at a time and were completely gone.
