This v shaped appeared flying up the canyon and disappeared after about 5 seconds

My friend and I were hiking for several days and this was on the first night at our campsite. He caroled in to sleep and I was tending the fire. I was looking straight up at the stars on a clear night due to pine trees at the rim of the canyon in my view right before calling it an eve. As I was looking up a v shaped object with 5 lights came into view from my right flying south to north up the canyon. This was below the tree line and plainly visible as it slowly went by in front of me before it disapppeared. The chevron had a light at the point and two on each wing. It was blackish grey and had a haze around it. I’ll add there were 2 more hikers at the site but everyone was in there hammocks except me. It made no sound and the lights did change color from a dull white. I also felt like I was being watched as I noticed the craft.
