I looked up and saw a round object with flashing lights travelling very slowly

I looked up and saw a round object with white and multi-coloured lights travelling very slowly, it appeared to be some distance away but difficult to judge. We ran to the otherside of the hotel in the direction of it to get a better look but when we got there it had disappeared.
