Large craft slowly and silently moving just above tree line possibly over lake

I saw a large cigar shaped craft traveling just over the tree line and possibly over the lake. The craft was so low that I was throwing rocks up at it and was traveling at the speed in which I could lightly jog to keep up with its forward motion. It then started to ascend into the sky so far it went completely out of site. It was a clear night.
