We witnessed a large ship about 120 feet above us that was disk like ship that stood still with lights on the outer bottom with no soun

In late summer in 1988, my then boyfriend now husband were laying on my couch with my girlfriend on the loveseat watching TV. My boyfriend jumped right off the couch in a panicky way that, at first I thought someone was on the fence and we were in danger. I and my girlfriend followed through the sliding doors and out the gate of my townhouse I shared with my girlfriend at the time. We stood in the parking lot for about 30 feet from our home looking straight into the sky at this huge ship about 40-50 feet long that had no sound or movement. It was above the tree line and beside my corner unit. The lights were red and blue and around the lower part of the ship and was a long oval shape not totally circular and metallic in the sunlight. We just stood staring in a surreal sort of daze.. I'm not sure in reality how long we stood there staring at it. We didn't speak or see anyone around that we were aware of. It was eerily quiet with the sun light creating glowing summer evening. It moved so fast towards south west at an abnormal speed in silence, we stared at it until was just gone. I remember being totally shook up and grabbed our phone book to look up to report this, I was overwhelmed and let it go thinking we couldn't have seen that and everyone and anyone would think I was crazy. None of us spoke of it again like the memory was gone.I didn't remember it until a few years later and at this time I said to my boyfriend, do you remember or have any memory of a UFO the three of us witnessed, it came back to me like a memory but it took 2 years to speak of it to anyone. He said no, your crazy and laughed. I was sharing the story with some friends and he interupted and said the lights weren't flashing the way I'd described. He finally admitted he'd seen it and was scared or unable to believe it happened and everyone would think he was insane.
