3 lights in a changing triangle formation

I was driving northbound on I-95 to visit my mom with my daughter and I looked to my east (our right side while driving north bound) and noticed 3 lights that were in a triangle formation like an equilateral triangle. I asked my daughter what she saw she said "what are those mom"? she seemed as surprised as I was. We kept looking and saw the moved in synch. They were moving from equilateral to scalene triangle smoothly, but stayed in a formation of three the whole time we observed them. One became really bright and faded from view, the other two appeared to be moving toward us and my daughter noted "its coming this way" but then those 2 remaining lights also seemingly vanished.

We live by Miami International Airport, we've observed drones at the beach, satellites while hiking in other states, this was not was not a helicopter, plane or drone. It was three lights forming a triangle, moving strangely and vanishing. The whole time we observed them we saw commercial planes flying by and are certain these were not other planes.
