Unmoving Bright light in southern sky disappears

We were sitting on our porch talking. My fiancé said, do you see that bright light in the sky. I said yes, and I looked at it. We were trying to figure out why it was not moving. It was just bright, and stationary. it was very low in the sky, But too high to be a structure. Too big to be a drone. Suddenly, the light disappeared.
