Bright object moving at high speed from west to east before instantly making a 90° turn and accelerated into space dissappearing.

I with other witnesses were having a conversation while looking up at the sky when we saw an object that seemed odd. It was just a bright light moving from west to east across the sky at what appeared to be an extremely high altitude. However it moved faster and was brighter than what I have normally seen from satellites. As it gained more attention from the group the objective instantly made a 90° turn to what looked like straight through the atmosphere with an acceleration that I have never seen in my life. I was transfixed and shocked and confirmed others saw what I had just seen.

Fortunately I also had my girlfriend on speaker and she could hear the others confirm what I saw. Now I'm not sure if what happened next was right before or right after the object accelerated away an orange stationary orb appeared in the sky. It was just stationary and silent before just disappearing.
