Around 3 PM in the afternoon observed two white orbs hovering, two additional orbs approached, 4 orbs equidistant oriented N and S

To begin with, I'm a licensed private pilot so I know how aircraft move about. I'm also a licensed architect/engineer trained in the skills of observation. At a pool party with several people, in Plano Texas around 3 PM on March 13, 2013(approximately). We had just finished lunch when I leaned back in my patio chair to chill. I observed two bright white orbs oriented North and South, hovering in the early afternoon sky. After a few minutes a 3rd orb approached from the North then a 4th orb approached from the south, 4 aligned North and South, equidistant. Around this time I asked others at the party to observe, which they did. All four orbs were the same size and brightness. The sun was still very high and bright in the sky, so the orb brightness was not a reflection off the object. I could not determine the height or size of the objects, they were either very high in the sky or small. They were obviously inside our atmosphere. After a few more minutes one orb headed north, then another headed south. Finally the original two orbs split and headed North and South. The orbs stopped, hovered and changed directions very smoothly and quietly. It was as if they were communicating and regrouping. There were no sounds, no wings, no rotors, no contrails, etc. There had been commercial jets flying nearby leaving contrails before and after the appearance of the orbs, we could hear them. I have not seen anything like it before or since! I should've made a video but didn't! My bad. Probably not enough here to be contacted, but wanted to report the sighting anyway.
