2 star-like objects close together not moving but there was too much cloud cover to see other stars

2 star-like objects very close together not moving but there was too much cloud cover to see other stars. Slightly blinking, disappeared after watching for about an hour. Saw planes near lights. Seemed stationary in nature but they disappeared after we tracked them for about an hour.
