2 stationary lights in separate locations became mobile

Looking due east up at the Big Dipper with my family we noticed an extra light. Within the next 30 seconds the light began to move north as if along the coast. While watching this stationary light become mobile, another light went from stationary to mobile & crossed paths with light 1.

Clearly no satellite as each object was stationary for at the very least 30 seconds, The movement witnessed was not a perspective illusion as after the object crossed paths with the 2nd object, it completely changed its trajectory and moved 90 degrees sharply to the east.

Very odd.
