Huge glow hovering over town & then disappeared like the speed of light off to the west

My son & I were coming back from youth group night & were north bound on loop 306.
All of a sudden we both noticed a huge glow in the sky- it was so bright & appeared to be green. We both noticed it hovering & then saw it head west & in a flash- it was gone. No trace was left behind. It appeared to be close to Goodfellow Air Force Base. We noticed an abnormal amount of AFB action in the sky after this.
