We were looking for the aurora borealis related to the recent G3 solar flares. Didn’t see that, but did see a linear white light about 3 finger widths just below the handle of the Big Dipper. It seemed to be moving slowly in a SW direction for several minutes and then it slowly faded away. We had a clear view of the sky with no obstructions(wires, etc). This is a very rural area. There was no cloud cover. We did not hear any engine or other noise.
