It looked like a star moving rapidly, but it did not move or have a tail like a shooting star.

My wife and I were in the pool of our apartment complex for a night swim, and we were looking up at the night sky. We saw what looked like a star, but it was moving rapidly and then it faded away. It did not have any flashing lights like a plane, and it did not have a tail like a shooting star.
