Playing in the dark, suddenly lit up like day light, looked up to see craft clearly

The event happened in the very early darkness of June 21,1964 in a residential area just north of and adjacent
to JFK Airport. The object was sighted clearly and very close up, directly overhead while standing behind a
private family residence at 132-15 l40th Street, South Ozone Park, NY, 11436-2016. This section is in the NE
corner of the intersection of the Van Wyck Expressway (I-678) and the Belt Parkway (27A). The Van Wyck
runs north/south and the parkway east/west. 140th Street is north/south also, and is parallel to the
expressway and one block east. Three witnesses were present: myself, my sister and a friend.
I must preface the recollection by stating some givens. Firstly, I literally grew up next to this airport.
Airplanes using various patterns in take off and landing flew regularly over and near our home as well as the immediate
neighborhood. Myself, and other residents, young and old, were very familiar with the various noises in that we
could tell and often commented if a plane was too low or very heavy by the engine noise. There were props and
turboprops as well as jets. The.jets were very loud and we would sometimes need to cover our ears. Helicopters
were daily, almost hourly noisemakers. They essentially ferried people from JFK to Manhattan and back,
following the nearby expressway in and out of Kennedy airspace. I lived there for thirteen years, 4 months and this event
happened just two months before relocating out of the area.
I have fixed the date as it was the evening of my graduation from 8th grade. I was l3 years, 4 months at the
time. I confirmed the exact date recently through school records. These same records indicate my IQ at the time
to be 130. Lastly, as a child in this neighborhood, I spent most daylight, non-school hours outside, and was
therefore intimately aware of my surroundings at all times.
The event:
My sister and our friend were playing in the yard of the address noted above. We had been playing and
running a bit and ran behind the garage. It was dark by this time. There was a chain link fence about 36
inches from the back of and parallel to the rear of the garage structure. Along this fence grew some tall plants
that were about as tail as the garage. The garage had a peaked roof and was about 12 feet wide. This was half of
two attached garages( a double garage with a common wall between them) served by a common driveway. We
owned one garage, our neighbor owned the other. The house and this garage located 30 feet or so immediately
behind it face west. Long Island would be to the rear or east, and the airport directly to the south.
As we were laughing and huddling behind the garage in the darkness , suddenly we were in 'daylight'. We
instantly looked up to see clearly and precisely a very large round, flattish (i.e. not an orb) craft. I say that
because there was an inner circle line indicating a lower portion and within that inner circle or 'rim' were three
small circles equidistant from each other, as three points of a triangle. As we looked up, we could not see the
entire shape. It was so large, that the garage roof and the tall plants obscured those portions of it from view. It
stood there motionless and in complete silence for a number of long seconds. We were bathed in a very bright light. I
remember briefly looking at my companions and the ground, as everything was as clearly seen as if it were
midday, but much brighter.
After a few moments the bright light went off and the object simply glowed within so it could be seen, but was not
throwing of enough to illuminate anything else. It then began to slowly move due west over the garage without
a sound. We ran around to the front (westerly) of the garage as it slowly passed overhead and continued over our
house in total silence.. At this point we could see it a bit more in profile, hence the flatness became more
evident. As it continued west, the house roof line blocked our view, so we ran again to the front of the house,
right on l40th street The object continued moving slowly west. It was still low enough that it could be seen
intermittently as houses and trees across the street blocked its light. We ran south a bit to be able to view it
again by looking west up 133rd avenue which is perpendicular to 140th St. It forms a 'T' with140 St.. As it
moved further west , it became smaller in size relative to other physical references in view. We watched as this
now dot of light still moving slowly, turned north for a while, then turned again to head east. I would estimate
looking back that it was over Brooklyn as it went west and north then headed out over the north shore of Long
Island as it headed east. We were able to maintain visual sight until it was about NE of our location , or 2
o'clock if north = noon, when nearby trees and houses eventually blocked the view altogether.
We were very excited as we knew that this object or craft was something we had never seen before. We knew
even then that no object could fly without a sound except a balloon, and this clearly was not a balloon but a
solid object flying a straight or deliberate path. I can see it as clearly today in my mind's eye as if it happened
last night.
I can firmly record that we saw something that did not exhibit the characteristics of any airplane , balloon or
other known craft when all of the elements are taken in toto. It made absolutely no sound; it lit up our
immediate area behind the garage as daylight for many long moments; it remained motionless while overhead;
it had a solid structure and it was big.
There are only two possibilities; one, that some one or group or organization developed an advanced craft in
1964 that it has successfully kept under wraps since or, two, it is from another source.
I do not believe in UFOs per se, as 'we' still apparently have no hard physical evidence. However I did see this object; it was
real. I do not believe I saw an object, I did in fact quite clearly see it without any doubt. I saw it as clearly as
you might see a bus stopped along side the curb or a car parked next to your house. My sister remembers it too. We lost touch with our friend after we moved away.
As to credibility, please note that I have a BS degree in Management from St. Johns University and an MBA from Columbia
University.
Additional information, recently learned.
It turns out another man I met not to long ago here in NC at a MUFON meeting, lived on Long Island and saw a UFO on the same night I did!
We looked at a map and his UFO seen in Nassau county heading west on the same longitude as my sighting. Coincidence??
He recently was regressed and remembered everything. I will be regressed in June by the same well known therapist.
