Long white trail moving across the sky

It was a beautiful fall afternoon and at first I thought it was an aircraft dumping fuel. Two planes side by side dumping fuel just didn’t seem right and I couldn’t visually see an aircraft of any kind so I took out my phone and snapped a couple of pictures so I could enlarge them and see the planes.
Odd, when magnified , there’s nothing in the sky leaving a trail of white smoke. Nothing at all.
