Orange ball of light heading east, fast, silent, then disappeared

I was in my backyard at about 8:35pm tonight and looked up just as an orange ball of light was shooting west to east direction, very fast, silent, and then it disappeared. It was about as high up as an airplane that is getting near an airport.
