I looking toward the south east sky this time trying to spot meteors (even though its a bit early at 9pm. I noticed a light in the sky I assumed was a star until it slowly blinked out.

Roughly a week before this I had this experience. I was outside at roughly 10:45pm, looking up at the sky toward the south east when I noticed two dots of light moving very fast toward each other. They were very close to each other. Just as they would pass each other their lights went out.
