Orange flickering light that faded over northwest Detroit around 10:30pm, Sept 11, 2017
At approx 10:30pm EST, on Sept. 11, 2017, my father and I witnessed an orange, flickering light. It appeared to be at an extremely high altitude (if even in the atmosphere). Its size resembled that of a star in the sky. It displayed inconsistent flickering, which slowly faded out after approx. 1.5 to 2 minutes. Object moved in a consistent path/line from southeast to northwest, at a constant, slow speed. There was no trail/tail either. The object did not emit any sound.
As a side note, according to aerospace.org, there were no reentries since September 3rd, with the next being September 15th.
