Large black elongated rugby ball shape ufo.

I just came home from picking my child up from school. I was stood at my kitchen window looking over at the hills. It is very foggy WHITE FOG. A black moving shape caught my eyes and I looked straight at it. It was like a elongated rugby ball coming in and out of the fog. Then it moved of into the thick fog at a high rate of speed. By using trees as a reference point id say it was at least a quarter mile in length. I AM STILL SHAKING FROM SEEING IT.
