Bright light in the sky very bright. It would dim out and get real bright and big again

It's very dark and cloudy out I saw a star coming out the clouds but it got brighter and brighter then dim out.It did the same thing twice. When it got brighter it got big and had for points like this + very bright light like head lights on a car but very bright. I don't know what I just saw?
