Wwhite sperical illumination that brightened then disappeared.

I was traveling in my car going home from work when I saw a sphere shaped object drop down from the sky. It slowed as it lowered from above.. It was quite large in size. About 500 feet across or larger. It was just a shimmer to begin with then saw the outline. Then it just disappeared. Like it was cloaked..
