Bright object traveling at a west to east direction accelerated and made what can be described as a u turn.

Object appeared as a moving bright light. Initially thought to be either a shooting star or satellite. Traveled as slowly as a satellite, in a west to east direction, but suddenly took an almost perfect 90 degree turn to the north, and then again back to the west. The object accelerated at a rate at least 5 times as fast as it was traveling initially when it made the two 90 degree turns.
