Bright orb that rapidly traveled west leaving a light trail and vanishing.

My neighbors and I were outside having a bonfire. In the south my husband saw a bright light that rapidly went right with a light trail and vanished.

An hour earlier, I looked up toward the north part of the sky and noticed a large bright circle that slowly moved to the left as it moved it got dimmer and smaller until it vanished (seconds).
