a light same speed as visible satellite moving north dims then gets brighter and dims repeatedly

almost like a very small star. moving slowly as a satellite would if it were reflecting sunlight...the lights became intense ... as bright as venus. then dimmed .. i thought shooting star but it again got brighter and dimmed then bright then dimm... it seemed to be alot higher than the airplanes or jets .. and made absolutly no sound . . . was not falling instead was keeping its altitude. it was moving directly northward .. from south to north ....old camera would not work.... (have seen similar thing before during the day it was a very small silver possibly round light going east to west about the same speed a month and a half ago)
