Outside and looked up and saw four bright objects saw four star like objects in pattern which then sped off in different directions.

At drive in theater (1960), person in next car shouted to look up. My girlfriend and I (in a 1956 Chevy Convertible) looked up to see four bright objects in a pattern formation, then shot off in different directions at unbelievable speeds. Still remember today as if it were yesterday, and I am nearly 80 years old. No aircraft or swamp gas, etc.
