Wild active nite in Spokane

While standing outside of the shelter downtown, approx 17:55hrs I was getting some fresh air and scanning the early nighttime skies with the constellation Orion observable entirely to the NE-S. And as I took this in just below Orion's belt, the bottom most star did a faint, yet descernable red -flash!- appear. I kept my gaze in this general area and followed a blue coloured -flash!-...and some stillness. Followed by a solid red sphere appearing under Orion's belt in the general same area, and then vanish. This entire event at this point has taken 10min approx. I took all of this in and walked out of the well lit gated area. Crossed the street to a less lit area to have another look.

As I stood on the sidewalk where there were only high standing street lights looking back up towards Orion again. Immediately to the left (N) of Orion sat in the dark sky a two star formation. Sat up there in a N-S position. As I kept my gaze upon this formation it began to expand (stars began slowly moving away from each other) in N-S trajectory. As was moving, clearly observable it began rotating counter clockwise to 180°. As the N star is now the S star and vice versa, while continuing to move away from each other. The northernly star stops forward momentum and remains static. The S trajectory star keeps moving away from the area and pulls a familiar action of, 'flit, flit, flit', glows bright, 'flit' and vanish to blip out.

Gone. Needless to say I was gobsmacked at this display.
