Was hovering over field with no sound, 2 fighter jets approached; 1 jet evaporated; 2nd jet turned around and took off; UFO took off,

Not sure of the date and time. It was summer and during the day (may have been a Saturday). My girlfriend and I were watching cartoons onTV and her mother ran into the house and told us to come outside to see this. We ran out to the garden area (field) and saw the UFO hovering in silence (It was facing the west). Next 2 fighter jet approached (from the west) the 'craft'. I had no idea that fighter jets could hover, but they were hovering in front of the craft. We watched in awe, till we saw 1 jet just disappeared. Seconds later, the 2nd jet turned around and took off fast. After a few more seconds, the craft zoomed (unbelievably fast) north. We ran into the house and started comparing what we saw and made sure that we watched the news to find out what had happened. It was not on the news… It was not in the papers… People, who we told, just laughed like we were making it up.
