We were traveling north on old route 6 off to our right (east) a object like a shoot star went past us.

As my wife and 2 friends were traveling north on old route 6 on Nov. 9 1974 at 6 pm coming down the hill from Peckville to Eynon off to our right (east) a flying object resembeling a shooting star flew past us. The object was silver in color with the nose in flames with blackened streaks and sparks with smoke trailing it. It was approx 3000 ft high and travelling south to north and located approx the center of the Lackawanna valley.
I can still vividly remember what it looked like.
The government report of what they found was a complete lie. I know because we new nothing about a UFO reported in Carbondale until a few days later and the story the government put to the public had to be a lie.
3 of the witnesses are still alive today.
