A bright white cone shaped object which was at a second story level that stopped in mid air.

After coming out of a friends house and onto the street, I noticed that the night was getting brighter, then all of a sudden the black night was being rolled up and behind the blachness was day light. You could see the blue sky and the white clouds, I looked around and I could see all the colours that could be seen during the day.The day light lasted for about 10 seconds then the blackness of night rolled back in like a carpet being rolled out.It was at that point when I looked up to my left and saw a BRIGHT white cone shaped object.I looked at the center of it and then at the outline of the circular part of it, it was surprising to find out that a light that bright allowed me to see the outline of it.Then I looked down the cone's tail which was redish blue in colour, but at the end of the tail I could see a blueish flame flickering upward into the sky and on top of the flame I could see the heat waves that came off the flame.At that point I knew that the object was stopped in mid air,I looked back up to the tail, to the front of it for a few more seconds then there was a low roar sound and it was gone.
