Headlight like object over mt rose in Reno nv

We were driving to work. My spouse asked me if I saw what he was seeing. I look up in the sky over near where the Mt Rose highway would be, and there was this circle of light, almost like you were looking at a car headlight sideways. It appeared that it was shining light through a smokey sky for about 7 seconds and then it slowly faded away.

I have never seen anything so bright and then to fade away slowly was bizarre.
