Large orb like luminous mist moved across the sky

We were sitting outside looking at the stars of the winter hexagon around 9:15 pm. There was light pollution from Scottsdale/Pheonix area. A large bush blocked the northwest horizon. The misty diffuse orb appeared over the bush, in the direction of Capella, moving at a constant speed; it disappeared for a second and reappeared overhead. Now within the misty orb was a slightly brighter crescent shape on the leading edge. The orb disappeared from view in about three seconds. There was no sound or air currents and it was not rotating. It appeared “large”. Because the orb was moving, angle above
the horizon is uncertain as was altitude.
