Two lights on different flight paths responded to our flashlight by shining a light back at us, and then vanishing before our eyes

Laying down on my deck outside star gazing with my partner, I first witnessed an light orange satellite traveling North - South. I pointed it out to my partner to show her what a satellite looked like, as I did so it vanished. I suspected it went behind a cloud I couldn't see, but further on its flight path there were visible stars that it never appeared in front of. About three minutes later another orange orb appeared this time traveling East - West, I said to my partner "look, another ufo!" I turned on my flashlight app and waved to the anomaly. The anomaly then IMMEDIATELY got REALLY, REALLY bright and changed hue to a brilliant white light, then vanished. There was also motion to the transition stage of the light. It did not just lighten up like a flip of a switch. I visually saw something almost move from in front of it, it moved up and to the right, almost like changing a lens on a microscope, when it vanished it was like instant snap of a fingers and gone. Faster than a common light turning off. Then, ANOTHER orange hue anomaly appeared, this time moving west - east. I pointed it out "Look, there's our friend, lets wave again!" we both turned on our flashlights and waved them and the third anomaly did the same thing - microscope like transition to a very, very bright white light before vanishing all together. Both times when the anomaly got bright it also nearly tripled in size.
