Location details: object approaching from southwest, moved directly overhead, departed to the northeast

Color: bright warm white
Estimated Size: object was a small dot but could have been large
Viewed From: Land
Direction from Viewer: It moved from the southwest and in a straight line directly overhead and to northeast
Angle of Elevation: 90
Closest Distance: impossible to tell, could have been 50 miles up
Estimated Speed: It seemed to be moving relatively slow

The object was brightly lit with a large spread out vapor/smoke trail with occasional bright pieces falling behind that lit up the vapor/smoke trail. After object passed an ember like object appeared to be falling to the ground. This was small and the only one I saw. The main object made no noise. The object differed from aircraft in that there was no navigation lights or rotating beacon and the main body of the object was very bright. Also, the vapor pattern spread very wide starting at the object and I would guess was miles long. The vapor was lit up by the object and was harder to see as it got further away from the object. The object passed overhead and appeared to be getting dimmer as it moved off to the northeast. I did not have my phone so I unfortunately have no picture.
