Very big and bright white light that eventually dimmed, became much smaller, and turned red.

I see a lot of planes fly cross the sky at night. Sometimes they appear to float and enlarge, but that's only because they are flying towards me. But tonight was very different. The light was very bright and big. No clouds around it, but the light had a hazy aura around it as if it were in some light clouds. It was much bigger than how planets look in the sky, but maybe a third of the size of the illuminated portion of the moon tonight. I took three pictures of it at x100 zoom on my s21 ultra. I really want to buy a cheap telescope now.

The thing changed shape as it floated a few hundred feet above Black Mountain. I first noticed it at around 8:55 pm and it began to dim around 9:15 pm. By 9:20 it had shrunk to the size of what stars look like in the sky, and it turned red. Yet it was clearly still in the same place just a few hundred feet above the house at the highest peak of black mountain. That house had its lights on, so I wonder if they were out to see it, too.

It made absolutely no sound (and I can hear the planes and helicopters from quite far away from here as I live on a hill and it's very open around here).

As of 9:36, it was still small and red, and it appeared to have moved to the northwest side of the mountain and lowered its altitude. By 9:40, it became out of sight.
