I saw 2 balls of white light just hovering for a long while. As I saw a helicopter move closer, they started moving silently

As they started moving south west, they change directions to south east. I could hear the helicopter but I couldn't hear what I was seeing. As it got closer to me, if changed from a ball of white light to red and green blinking lights. It took a while to report because I wasn't sure what I saw until I read another report about a medicine ball of white light that made no noise
